Kids in the Kitchen with Chef Ada

‘Kids in the Kitchen’ with Chef Ada Chandler focuses on building the culinary confidence of your child through kid-friendly classes, demonstrations, and interactive events. Chef Ada will teach your child how to prepare each yummy item through a combination of hands-on, observation, and taste testing — with a lot of fun mixed in!    Parents check in your child at the Kitchen and then feel free to shop the market while class is in session!

Kids in the Kitchen Summer Camp

June 25th – 29th  Lil’ Chefs ages 7-10 | 9am – 12pm (limited to 12 seats) | Teen Chefs ages 11-13 | 2pm – 5pm (limited to 14 seats)

July 23rd – 27th  Lil’ Chefs ages 7-10 | 9am – 12pm (limited to 12 seats) | Teen Chefs ages 11-13 | 2pm – 5pm (limited to 14 seats)

Each camp – $450 per child

Does your child love to cook, bake, create or experiment in the kitchen? Do they dream about becoming a chef or owning their own restaurant? Our Kids in the Kitchen Summer Cooking Camp will take them on a fun, food-filled journey where Chef Ada Chandler will teach them how to develop a budget, buy local ingredients, create recipes, build a menu, and master new cooking techniques.  Campers will work together to create their own farm-to-table restaurant concept!

This is a hands-on cooking camp where campers will shop the Easton Public Market Farmstand for ingredients and learn various cooking techniques. They’ll meet with local farmers and food purveyors to gain a deeper understanding of farm-to-table cooking.  And even meet with a local chef and artist to brainstorm their restaurant design and concept. As they move toward developing their own restaurant, campers will work with their peers to come up with their own restaurant name and logo and learn how to properly dress a table. Each day, campers will create two to three dishes that will develop into a 4 course meal by the end of the week.  On the final day, campers will set the tables and serve a meal in their newly created restaurant!

Kids will get to taste and enjoy everything they cook each day, and there will be leftovers to take home too.

Registration fee includes: A chef hat and apron, measuring cups, measuring spoons, a rolling pin, recipe packet, Kids in the Kitchen Cooking Camp t-shirt and a canvas bag.

Camps will be held Monday thru Friday from 9am to 12 noon for the Lil’ Chefs session (maximum 12 children) and 2pm to 5pm for the Teen Chefs session (maximum 14 children).   Campers are organized into two age groups so all children team up with their peers.

Calling All Girl Scout Troops in the Lehigh Valley

Does your Girl Scout Troop need a venue to earn their Cooking Merit Badge? If so, the Easton Public Market Kitchen staff is here to help your troop learn, have fun and earn their Cooking Merit Badge.

The troop will learn about food safety, nutritional guidelines, meal planning, and methods of food preparation, and even about the variety of culinary or cooking careers. We work with all Girl Scout Troop categories including Daisies, Brownies, Juniors, Cadettes and Senior Girl Scouts.
Troop package includes: Chef instructor, entrée, homemade drink, dessert, recipes to take and practice at home, and an apron for up to 12 scouts.
Package cost: $395 for 2 hours $20 per additional scout.
