Fermentation Extravaganza with Carrie Havranek of the Dharma Kitchen and Peter Todaro! They showed you their Funky Roots, and now they’re back with a fast-paced, information-dense tour of the world of funky ferments! Peter will teach the class how to make colorful and unconventional sauerkrauts, and Carrie will demonstrate how to make “quickles” (quick pickles) that you’ll take home.

The class will also include sampling Pennsylvania Dutch Chow Chow, a discussion of fermented foods and your microbiome, and a presentation of a real live SCOBY (symbiotic culture of yeast and bacteria), a necessary component for kombucha brewing. Yes, folks, you heard it right–a SCOBY.
