Sunday, April 8th | 10 am to 11:30 am$20 pp (ages 7-11) | Limited to 10 Seats‘Kids in the Kitchen’ with Chef Ada Chandler focuses on building the culinary confidence of your child through kid-friendly classes, demonstrations, and interactive events.  Along with new techniques and recipes that are taught weekly, Chef Ada teaches proper kitchen hygiene along with safe kitchen utensil handling at every class.Apple pie is delicious and so is French toast, but who would think to combine the two?  In this class students will make Apple Pie French Toast and will learn how to combine a delicious breakfast and dessert along with mastering some flipping techniques.Parents check in your child at the EPM Kitchen and then feel free to shop the market while class is in session.When registering your child, please put her/his name as the participant (this is the 3rd screen of the registration process). Sunday, April 15th | 1:30-2:30pmFree | No registration requiredIf you have a community garden plot, patio container garden, or small backyard garden, and have wondered how to get more produce out of a small space, then this workshop at the Easton Public Market Community Room is for you!  Learn tips from Amy Cook of The Yard Farmer on planning out the garden, preparing the soil, tending the plants, and extending the growing season with simple innovations.  She will also demystify the sometimes-confusing information on seed packets and in seed catalogs.  Question and answer session to follow.

The Easton Hunger Coalition hosts the free public “Morning Conversation on FOOD” series at the Community Room inside the Easton Public Market on the third Wednesday of each month at 9 am.  Participants will explore such topics as food, local food systems, food justice, food waste, food recovery, and hunger.  Conversation moderators will provide information to guide the topic, as well as action items that can be taken to support the reduction of food waste in our community.

Wednesday, April 25th | 9:30am – 11:00am$35/child (includes parent) - Limited to 16 childrenToddler aprons available for $6 eachYou have probably heard about Kids in the Kitchen with Chef Ada Chandler at the Easton Public Market - a very popular cooking class on the Easton food scene. This class, Tots in the Kitchen, is similar but for younger children, ages 2-4, who still need an adult by their side. This hands-on cooking class with Chef Ada allows parents to assist their little ones in measuring dry and wet ingredients. Each parent has the choice to cook with their child alongside of them or just assist, depending on the child's age and capabilities. The class features simple baking recipes where the children learn how to measure dry ingredients and mix various batters. Parents can bring a small container to take a few scrumptious goodies home for their little ones to enjoy.

We will talk about the importance of shifting your diet when the seasons shift, and cook some foods that will help your body ease into the transition of spring. Think good proteins, a warming soup, and dark, bitter greens. Participants will leave with knowledge, recipes and possibly some leftover food!

Artist April Khalil brings her love of sharing artistry with children to EPM.  This class focuses on building fine motor skills through making a craft using shapes, colors, textures, building/layering, and clay modeling. All classes include customized projects and one-on-one instruction assistance. All classes are “Mommy & Me” type structure where both mother and child benefit from the lesson.
